SSG Michael Juan Martinez passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 26. He was a military police officer and was known by Military Police badge number PSD287.

Michael Juan Martinez was born on March 13, 1999, to Juan Martinez and Angela Durham. According to his memorial page, he loved video games, board games, and card games with friends and family, and he had a deep love for law enforcement and the military.  This passion led him to become a military police officer.

He also had a special bond with his dog, Kora, who passed away not long before him.

SSG Martinez is survived by his parents, Juan and Audra Martinez, his mother Angela Durham, his brothers Christopher and Patrick Martinez, and his sister and niece, Stephanie and Serenity Durham.

Honor Bound Spirits in San Diego, California, creates this commemorative bottle. The company is marine-owned and a friend to all first responders. The bottle is superior to other engravings. It is sandblasted, not just etched, and pays true honor to every fallen first responder it is created for.

The whiskey is first aged in new 53-gallon, medium-charred American oak barrels for up to 8 years. Then, it is rested in-barrel with Chilean Amburana oak staves.  It creates a uniquely sweet, yet spicy bourbon whiskey. It has hints of gingerbread and fresh vanilla on the nose. There is a pronounced sweetness on the palate. It shows touches of oak, spice cake, nutmeg, and light brown sugar.

The bottles can be shipped across the United States except for the restricted states of Alaska, Massachusetts, Michigan, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Utah.
