Police Officer Kendall Corder succumbed to gunshot wounds he received when he was ambushed at North 24th Place and West Garfield Avenue in Milwaukee on June 26, 2025.
Around 9:00 p.m., Officer Corder and his partner responded to a domestic violence call with a subject with a gun, which was upgraded to a shots fired call while they were en route to the scene. When they exited their patrol vehicle and approached the alley, they were ambushed by the suspect who was hiding in the bushes. The suspect fired on the officers with an AR-15. Officer Corder was hit once and his partner was hit in the foot.
Both officers were transported to Froedtert Hospital. One officer was released on June 28, 2025, after receiving gunshot wounds to the back and foot. Officer Corder remained on life support until passing away from multiple gunshot wounds, including a severed spine, on June 29, 2025.
The suspect was apprehended the next day and was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Another was charged with harboring or aiding a felon. A third person was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
Officer Corder had served with the Milwaukee Police Department for over six years. He is survived by his grandmother, two siblings, and a nephew.

Liberty Call Distillery in San Diego, California, creates this commemorative bottle. The company is marine-owned and a friend to all first responders. The bottle is superior to other engravings. It is sandblasted, not just etched, and pays true honor to every fallen first responder it is created for.
The whiskey is first aged in new 53-gallon, medium-charred American oak barrels for up to 8 years. Then, it is rested in-barrel with Chilean Amburana oak staves. It creates a uniquely sweet, yet spicy bourbon whiskey. It has hints of gingerbread and fresh vanilla on the nose. There is a pronounced sweetness on the palate. It shows touches of oak, spice cake, nutmeg, and light brown sugar.
The bottles can be shipped across the United States except for the restricted states of Alaska, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Utah.

Bottle is beautifully designed and bourbon is very smooth. When the group of Defenders from my base gave me the bottle honoring Kendall, it brought a wave of emotions remembering my time with Kendall. He will be dearly missed. Rest easy my brother. Love you and miss you dearly.
