The First Responder Whiskey Society has released this memorial whiskey bottle for fallen Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson. This project was started with permission from his family. 100% of the net proceeds will go back to support his family.

Police Officer Cooper Dawson succumbed to gunshot wounds he received while pursuing a subject who fled a traffic stop.
At 7:40 p.m., Officer Dawson stopped a driver who had multiple felony warrants at the 3500 block of Pickett Street. The driver fled the car on foot, and Officer Dawson pursued the subject. As Officer Dawson ran behind 3517 Pickett Street, he was ambushed by the subject, who struck him multiple times in the leg and chest. He returned fire, wounding the subject.
Officer Dawson was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to Medical City Plano, where he passed away the following morning.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Officer Dawson was a United States Army National Guard veteran and had served with the Greenville Police Department for over a year. He had previously served with the Garland Police Department for seven years. He is survived by his wife and three children.

It is sandblasted, not just etched, and pays true honor to every fallen first responder it is created for.
The whiskey is first aged in new 53-gallon, medium-charred American oak barrels for up to 8 years. Then, it is rested in-barrel with Chilean Amburana oak staves. It creates a uniquely sweet, yet spicy bourbon whiskey. It has hints of gingerbread and fresh vanilla on the nose. There is a pronounced sweetness on the palate. It shows touches of oak, spice cake, nutmeg, and light brown sugar.
The bottles can be shipped across the United States except for the restricted states of Alaska, Massachusetts, Michigan, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Utah.

This is an outstanding way to pay tribute to a fallen officer and to help the surviving family on the financial end. The detail in the bottle is excellent and really grabs your attention. Whoever is responsible for designing these bottles and then creating them did incredible work. It is well worth the purchase price. For reference, I purchased the one for Officer Cooper Dawson, EOW 11-26-2024, a great friend to many of us. You will not be forgotten, your actions were nothing short of heroic that horrible night. As far as the bourbon inside, I admit I do not know, I'm not sure I would ever open that bottle. Maybe one day. For now it is proudly displayed in my office at the station as a reminder to all of so many things.
This bourbon exceeds my expectations. I'm saddened to have it, but it was shared with my friends to honor Cooper's heroic actions and his legacy of honor and courage. Thank you.
