Alec Langen was killed in a Marine helicopter crash while returning to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar following a training flight from Creech Air Force Base in Nevada. Langen was aboard a CH-53E Super Stallion flying through severe winter weather in the mountains east of San Diego. The helicopter was reported overdue and was later found near Pine Valley. Langen served as a CH-53E helicopter crew chief with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. There is a pronounced sweetness on the palate.
